Burgers are usually the main focus of a meal leaving fries as the side dish at the downtown Sacramento restaurant, Burgers and Brew. The local burger joint has created a menu that dresses up fries and makes them the main dish.

There are a variety of toppings for the fries that range from the typical melted cheddar cheese to the fried eggs that lusciously ooze over fries.

Not only does Burgers and Brew’s fries menu deviate from the typical French fry-ketchup combination, but the great thing about the menu is that it’s mostly gluten-free.

Another alternative to regular fries are curly fries, sweet potato fries or onion rings. If you’re feeling adventurous with deep fried goodness, these options are available as well.

If you’re in the mood for fries, but wished there was more than the typical naked fries with ranch dipping sauce, then Burgers and Brew’s fry menu is the best bet.

Name: Buffalo Fries

Rating: 5/5

Toppings: Hot buffalo sauce, blue cheese, chicken, provolone cheese

Special diet: Gluten-free

Notes: These fries tasted so good – I wasn’t sure if I was eating buffalo fries or buffalo wings. The hot sauce complemented the fries, giving it a spicy, yet savory taste. It’s not bad that the fries were substituted with curly fries, which made them extra enjoyable to eat. With these fries, who needs chicken wings?

Name: Breakfast Fries

Rating: 5/5

Toppings: Fried eggs, bacon bits and cheddar cheese

Special diet: Gluten-free

Notes: This is one of Burgers and Brews unique and tasty fry selections. The egg was cooked to perfection and looked (and tasted) yummy as the yolk flowed over the fries. The bacon and the cheese add a savory aspect to the dish. This would be considered the breakfast of champions.

Name: Gladiator Fries

Rating: 4/5

Toppings: Feta and parmesan cheese, and grilled chicken

Special diet: Gluten-free

Notes: The gladiator fries have melted parmesan cheese, which covers the fries and is topped with chunks of grilled chicken and feta cheese all over, which makes this fry dish a must have for everyone. The chicken was tender, and the feta cheese had a strong, overwhelming taste, but this is what makes the dish enjoyable and different from some of the other fry dishes.

Name: Baja Fries

Rating: 4.5/5

Toppings: Salsa, sour cream, guacamole and mozzarella cheese.

Special diet: Gluten-free

Notes: These fries were mouthwatering – the salsa complimented the taste of the fries giving it a mild spicy taste while the guacamole almost served as a dip for the fries with sour cream covering the fries and the cheese melted all over made it one of my favorite fry dishes so far. If it only had carne asada topped all over, it would have been the perfect fries dish.
