Denver tops first day of Sac State golf meet

Behind the swing of two top-seven golfers No. 12 Denver (578) held a 12-stroke lead over the rest of the competition in the NCAA Western Regional Preview hosted by Sacramento State on Monday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Washington State (590) and Oregon (592) round out the top three in second and third place, respectfully, after the first day of play. The Sac State women’s golf team is in 14th placed with a score of 615. Senior Kim Coppin (153) is tied for 41st place, freshman Samantha Safford (154) and senior Heather LeMaster (154) are tied for 51st place, senior Erica Yoshino (156) is tied for 62nd place and sophomore Brooke Green (164) is tied for 91st place.
