Sacramento State student Lazarus Kauffman showed his school spirit as he was walked through Mariposa Hall on Tuesday.

The junior graphic design major won a costume contest in his typography class. The contest gave the 20 students in the class and opportunity to earn extra credit by dressing up as a mad scientist. Kauffman earned 10 points by winning with his outfit.

He said only five students, including himself, “took it seriously.”

“It was tiring,” he said being in the graphic design major.

About 100 students apply to major in graphic design, and only 42 students get in each year.
