If students complain about places to have fun in Sacramento, just checking out 916 online.com will change their whole mindset.Webmaster Jason Hammoud , a junior majoring in photography, created the site for events, clubs and bars in Sacramento.

Since he started the site, the hits on the site have increased dramatically. Clicking on a club in the gallery will bring up live shots of the selected establishment. A chat room lets people communicate with others about things to do around town and exchange information or get together for clubbing.

Questions like, “Where can I meet hot girls?” or “I’m underage, but where can I have fun?” are among those asked.

“The Web site lets people know about clubs and parties,” said Hammoud. “We update the Web site with coming events and new information. We are planning our own events, too.”

“The next 916online.com event will be a ‘Hot Girls Contest.’ Girls e-mail their pictures to the Web site, and 916online.com will set up the contest in a club. 916online.com will select six hot girls, and the audience will select the hottest girl,” he said.

Hammoud goes to clubs five days a week and knows people in the community.

“If you don’t know people and places well and just try to pick up somebody in a club, that’s not so fun,” he comments. “But the members of the chat rooms know each other. You can bring your ideas, share your information and get together.”

Hammoud started taking pictures when he was a high school student. He used to work for a studio and took pictures for weddings and events. His work expanded to taking pictures of clubs and people.

“There are so many things going on in Sacramento,” said Hammoud. “I want college students to know more about them.”

916online.com is also a good site for students to advertise their own social events. Hammoud wants to create a positive environment on the Web site that will bring people together for great parties and other social multimedia facets.

The Web site includes various reviews of restaurants and music in Sacramento. “If you know of some good information, click on ‘contact’ and write your reviews,” said Hammoud. “Your information will be shared.”

In spite of the end-of-the-semester doldrums, there is no more excuse for the usual boredom. 916online.com is here to solve the lonely Friday night curse.
