Student-only parking legislation delayed
Associated Students Inc. President Christina Romero’s legislation to gain support for student-only parking for Structures ll and lll was stalled due to inaccuracies in the legislation and suggestions from board members.
“I think (the meeting) went well,” she said. “I think the questions were really thoughtful and helpful. It helps me identify areas where the legislation wasn’t clear enough.”
Romero said she wants to get more opinions from faculty and staff on campus.
Switch in paper may be more environment-friendly
Vice president of University Affairs Walter Wallace presented a legislation to change the type of printer paper ASI uses.
Wallace said the new paper is 100 percent post-consumer and therefore better for the environment.
Wallace asked for approximately $500 of ASI funds to attend the Chico Sustainability Conference from Nov. 1 through Nov. 4.
Walter said the conference will teach him efficient recycling practices and ways to conserve energy.
Increased environmentalism is part of ASI’s 2007-08 Strategic Plan.
