Sac State student dies in car accident

A Sacramento State student died June 10 from injuries suffered in a single-car accident in Elk Grove.

Steven Andrew Hintz, 18, was an Elk Grove High graduate and just finished his first year at the university as an undeclared.

According to the Bee, he died in an accident after traveling upwards of 100 miles per hour and crashing into a tree. His two passengers were injured but did not die.

“He was a wonderful son,” Steven’s father, Hamilton, told the Sacramento Union.

During the spring semester, the Hornet reported two Sacramento State student deaths in motorcycle crashes and one other student who had recently transferred from Sac State died in a car accident.
