Oh, to be rich, young, beautiful and still in high school. And on television.

The kids of &Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,& get to live that dream 8211; a reality TV show catering to all the egotism of youth, while entertaining audiences with the downfalls of it.

MTV has once again struck gold with this runaway hit that comes on the heels of Fox&s nighttime soap &The O.C.& Let&s just face it, people like to watch rich bratty kids that whine about where they will go for spring break and when their dad will by them a new car.

They are much more interesting than kids that have no money and never do anything. For 30 minutes every Tuesday night, audiences are transported to the kind of high school life they all wish they had.

Although it is edited to look like a soap opera, &Laguna Beach& is a reality show. The &stars& are skinny, beautiful and scantily clad most of the time and most importantly live by the beach in on of the ritziest communities in California.

The main plot is a love triangle between Stephen (the high school hottie), Lauren, better known as L.C. (the laid back senior girl) and Kristin (the self-centered junior girl).

The saga continues every week, and every week Stephen alternates what girl he is interested in. Stephen has basically said that Lauren is girlfriend material and Kristin is better to just have fun with, and it&s obvious what that familiar phrase translates into. Most of the other characters are secondary and not as interesting.

The story takes place in the senior year of high school for most of the characters (even though it never actually shows them going to school). They find themselves struggling with what colleges they will go to and what friends they will stay in contact with.

They throw bonfires and hotel room parties and travel out of the country for spring break.

It seems that everything comes a little easier to the kids of &Laguna Beach.& Last week had the main characters participating in a fashion show wearing hats that one of the characters designed. Then, they attended a Blink 182 concert where the senior boys almost got in a fight with a little person while defending Lauren and her friend Lo&s honor.

This week on &Laguna Beach& it&s prom time, and the invitations are a little more unique than expected.

But what will happen to the love triangle when Stephen is forced to choose one girl as his date? And what do kids of &Laguna Beach& wear to prom? &Laguna Beach& airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. on MTV.
