The California Association of Japanese Language Teachers and the Sacramento State Foreign Language Department will be holding a karaoke contest on Dec. 17.

The contest will be held in Mendocino Hall, Room1005 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

A prize of $50 will be given to the winner with two second prize winners receiving gift certificates and one first prize winner also receiving a gift certificate.

The event is being held to celebrate the Year of Foreign Language by promoting the Japanese language and culture through karaoke, according to the event’s website.

There will be free parking provided in Lot 2 for the contest. Lot 2 is a Faculty/Staff lot located across the street from Mendocino Hall.

Registration for people who wish to perform need to register with Ms. Naoko McHale via e-mail at [email protected]. Spectators are encouraged to attend and admission is free.
