The Nest is going Hollywood for the Hornet Hoopfest.

Dressed as their favorite Hollywood celebrities, the men’s and women’s basketball teams will officially introduce themselves to the campus 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hornets Nest.

“It’s the first chance for everyone to come out and get a look at all the new players, and it gives us a chance to get to know the fans,” forward Chris Lange said.

After the introductions, the men’s team will have a dunk line and both teams with have a skills challenge and three-point contest.

Lange said he is looking forward to seeing new recruit Justin Williams in the dunk line along with returning players Davon Roberts and Jason Gilzene. The men’s team will also scrimmage.

There will be raffles and prizes given out for the best fan costumes. Fans are also encouraged to come dressed in Hollywood attire.

The women’s team is coming into the season after making the Big Sky tournament for the second time in program history. The men’s team has hosted a playoff game against Weber State each of the past two years, and last year posted an 8-6 conference record.

There will also be performances by Herky, the Hornets’ mascot, and the Hornet Girlz. The Hornets Nest is located in Yosemite Hall.
