Measure 1, which allows the ASI to redirect funds from the student fees passed with 1,264 students voting yes and 767 voting no.

This measure will not increase student fees but will allow ASI to hire a grants writer to assist ASI programs. This will also allow ASI to continue to support the Regional Transit contract that provides students with free rides on light rail and the Regional Transit buses.

ASI has also stated that it will use $3,000 of this money to increase the homecoming king and queen scholarships.

The 61 jobs for students with financial need will also continue to be funded. The measure can be implemented only after receiving President Alexander Gonzales’ approval.
