03/26/04– Up until a few days ago, I was going to be graduating with honors. Then I slacked off a little and got a less-than-stellar grade on an exam. An exam worth about 50% of my class grade. It is my own fault for letting myself get to the point of being borderline, of course, but it’s still depressing. Later that day I told a coworker and she said, “Well, you know, a lot of people who are successful in their careers weren’t the best students.” Right. Like that’s comforting.03/25/04– I picked up my cap and gown for graduation today! Someone please tell me I am not the only one who took it home and tried it on, cap, tassel, and all. I just wanted to make sure it fit. Also, I was better able to imagine the painful family dealings I will have to deal with, simply because of graduation. Long story short, as with almost everyone I know, there are two sides to my family; The side I like and the side I dislike. And the will both be there. Neither side can stand the other, and am already getting headaches just trying to plan how I can keep them apart. I like to think of this as practice for my wedding in the (very distant) future. They’ll all come together, my mom will hate my dress, my dad will hate the food, and the rest of my friends and relatives will gawk in horror at the monstrosity that is my family.03/24/04– There are several things about Sac State that I really don’t want to share with everyone because I still want to be one of the few who know about them. For example: 1. The restroom in the Outpost. There are single-person restrooms here that are excellent for privacy. 2. The third and fourth floors of the library. These not only have wireless internet connection, but there are also individual study rooms available. These are ideal for those of us who hate it when people follow the “silent study” rules. By the way, for the girl who decided to chastise my political theory study group for talking on the third floor, the fourth floor is the only floor designated as silent study. Get a life, seriously. 3. The music listening rooms. Need a nap? Read, listen to your favorite CD, and sit in a bean bag chair? Look no further than the music listening rooms on the second floor of the Union.

At any rate, you can see why I wouldn’t want to disclose these little facts about our school. Consider it my good deed for the day. All right, for the year.
