Looking for some new equipment for the upcoming ski season, butdon’t like the high prices of the open market? How does 30 to60 percent off retail sound? Then mark your calendar for Sunday,when the Ski & Snowboard SWAP is hosted by the Sacramento StateSki/Snowboard Club.

This 38th annual event is the oldest of its kind in NorthernCalifornia. The Ski and Snowboard SWAP of Sacramento State iswell-known throughout California for their support in helping tobring quality merchandise to the students and the community.

“The Ski & Snowboard SWAP is your one stop shop foreverything,” said Soroush Rahimian, the new president of theSki/Snowboard Club this year.

Tickets are $5 for students with a valid OneCard, SeniorCitizens, and youth between the ages of 12-18. General admission is$7 and children under 12 get in free. Parking will be availablefree of charge for all that attend the event.

This year’s event features over $1 million worth of newand used items for all ages.

Special season pass offerings will be available if you missedthe deadline for early season pass prices for your favorite resort.Sierra North Star ski resort is planning to give away three lifttickets, and Vail ski resort is going to raffle off 2,000 trippackages, just to name a few of the prize give-a-ways.

There will be free fun for the whole family including a jumphouse for the kids and a rock-climbing wall. Also, the bandSinClair will be performing live at the event.

The Ski & Snowboard SWAP is the primary fund-raiser for theSki & Snowboard Club at Sac State.

The club takes in 19 percent of the total sales. Byparticipating in the SWAP, you can buy new or used equipment thatis of top quality, and help to support the oldest club on the SacState campus that had its beginnings back in 1965.

Although this event carries a “SWAP” title, it ismore of a whole sale gathering. The club does the work of gettingthe local shops ready for the event, the organization, and bringingin the sponsors.

Whether you are looking for new equipment or trying to make somemoney off your old, unused gear, this is the place for you to bringyour business.

The combination of public registry items and the thousands ofitems brought in by local ski and snowboard shops, there is reallynot much that you would not be able to find at this event.
