Parking forum scheduled for today

Administration and Business Affairs, along with University and Transportation Services, will host a parking forum today from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Music Recital Hall in Capistrano Hall.

The objective of the discussion is to educate the audience on how UTAPS operates and to receive feedback through audience participation.

The first 45 minutes of the meeting will consist of a presentation from officials of UTAPS. The audience will then voice its concerns and have questions answered during the second half of the forum.

“What we?re trying to do here is explain and tutor how the UTAPS operation works,” Director of Support Services Ronald Grant said at the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting on March 22.

“We?ll discuss things from the current condition of parking on campus and the funding of programs.

“We also want to hear the concerns of the current state of parking, but we want it to be constructive,” Grant added. “We don?t want to hear complaints about parking and such.”

The parking forum is open to Sacramento State faculty, staff and students.

Employee applications for the bicycle subsidy program are due Wednesday. Chosen applicants will be awarded a 60 percent discount for a new bicycle, used for commuting purposes, worth up to $300. Applications can be picked up at the UTAPS office in Foley Hall or printed out online.
