Breaking avian news: Wild turkeys flock to Sacramento State

Robert Linggi

A flock of wild turkeys has been spotted roosting in a tree near Capistrano Hall, and generally strutting around campus like they own the place.

About a dozen hens and one male were seen earlier this morning pecking at the ground and pooping on our grass.

When Hornet reporters attempted to confront the flock about its outrageous actions, the turkeys ran away and could not be immediately reached for comment.

While wild turkeys are common, a flock this size is rarely seen on campus.

Despite this fact, there has been no push from the student body to change the name of Sac State’s mascot from “Herky the Hornet” to “Herky the Turkey”, even though “turkey” rhymes way better with “Herky”.

The Hornet will be following this breaking story closely. Stay tuned to statehornet.com for more updates.
