Campus police and members of the Sacramento

Fire Department assisted a man outside Riverside Hall after he

experienced chest pains around 9:50 p.m. Thursday.

The man’s wife went over to the booth in front

of the bicycle compound to have the attendant call for help.

“She banged on my door and asked me to call

911,” said junior social work major Katina Davis, who also works

dispatch for the Night Shuttles on campus. “Her husband had a heart

attack in the last two years and she was adamant for the fire

department,” Davis said.

Campus police and members of the fire

department had a brief argument with the man’s wife who insisted on

being by his side. She eventually entered the passenger side of the

fire truck without further incident.

The man was placed on a stretcher and

transported to UC Davis Medical Center. Campus police would not

reveal any additional information at this time.
