Relieve end of semester blues with the CSUS Gospel Choir

This Saturday the CSUS Gospel Choir is having a free spring concert in the Music Recital Hall (In Capistrano Hall, next to the parking structure) at 7 p.m.

The choir consists of about 25 members and will be singing seven selections, featuring songs “Sovereign” by John Pkee and “For Every Mountain.”

Nikkema Taylor, director and president of the choir recommends attending the concert because with the end of semester finals coming up, it is a great way torelax and alleviate stress.

“It?s going to be a wonderful concert, the music is inspirational, uplifting and happy,” Taylor said.

The concert will present guest MC and praised leader Dena Finch.

There will be other musical guests such as Chris Jones and Elaine Princess, the star of T.D. Jakes? “Women thou Art Loose.”

The duo has performed with Dawkins and Dawkins, Tramain Hawkins and Angie and Debbie Winans.Songs “For Every Mountain” and “Free” will be featuring solos from some of the choir members.

Music majors can also receive credit for attending the concert. Michelle Mack, who is a singer in the choir and also helps direct the concert, says students should come because they will have a really good time.

“It is a great family event with good music,” Mack said.
