New parking option for Sacramento State students

The community of Sacramento State can find a little stress relief and maybe even make it to class on time now that a new parking lot is open to faculty/staff and students.

“My understanding is that it will be first come first served for faculty and students,” said Howard Harris Associate Vice President of Facilities Management.

The new lot is located next to the University Union. It has replaced the temporary buildings that once housed the Graphic Design department and the State Hornet office.

There are 250 spots available to those with valid permits, however a permit machine has not been installed and future plans for a machine are unknown.

The project took about two weeks to complete and cost around $61,000. The money was taken from the parking fund.
