FRIDAY OCTOBER 13
THE THIRD ANNUAL ARTS FESTIVAL will be at the Sacramento Convention Center from noon to 9 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. There will be food from Sacramento restaurants and wine from over a dozen California wineries, along with 225 contemporary craftspeople and fine artists. Tickets are $6.50 for adults $3 for children.
A CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER will be held this weekend at Heritage Inn in Roseville. Tickets are $50 per couple. For registration call Dave and Barbara Rawls at 630-8957.
PIANIST DANILO PEREZ will perform at the Varsity Theater in Davis at 8 p.m. Perez fuses Latin, Afro-Cuban, classical and jazz. For more information, call 766-2277.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 14
THE AMERICAN RIVER SALMON FESTIVAL is at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery in Rancho Cordova from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be fishing clinics, salmon BBQ, live music, children?s games, a 5K fun run/walk, rafting and canoeing and crafts. “LUMA: THEATER OF LIGHT” is a show that includes puppetry, juggling, dance, light show and magic. It will be held at the Varsity Theatre at U.C. Davis at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. All seating is reserved. For tickets and other information, call (530) 757-3199.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 15
A Kid?s Festival will be held at the Sacramento Zoo in Land Park. Activities include watching children?s groups perform, a puppetry show, and animal encounters. Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $4.25 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for under 3. For more information, call 264-5889.
THE TOWE AUTO MUSEUM will be holding a swap meet as its semi-annual fund-raiser event under the Capital City freeway between 20th and 22nd streets. Auto-related merchandise will be for sale including vintage license plates, antique collector cars, and rare auto parts. The event begins at 6 a.m. and the admission is free. THE 15TH ANNUAL JAZZ JUBILEE will be held on Main Street in Placerville. 11 a.m. is the parade and music will be on-going from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
