Alpha Chi Omega hosts dunk tank for domestic violence awareness

Sacramento State’s Alpha Chi Omega chapter hosted a dunk tank in the Library Quad to promote domestic violence awareness Thursday.

Mechanical engineer junior Jake Hall said his shift consisted of sitting in the dunk tank and charging $1 for three attempts to dunk him.

“I’m in a dunk tank in the Library Quad for a half hour, getting dunked back to back,” Hall said.

The proceeds from the dunk tank will go towards Women Escaping A Violent Environment (WEAVE) and the Alpha Chi Omega foundation, which also supports women suffering from domestic violence.

Hall said he is running for Mr. Alpha Chi Omega, the male representative for Alpha Chi Omega.

The dunk tank is part of the Sweetheart Competition, the event when Mr. Alpha Chi Omega will be chosen after several competitions, which will be taking place on Nov. 28.
