Update: Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 11:33 a.m. — The man found near Paradise Beach was identified as Enrico ‘Rico’ Luster, 50. While he was initially believed to have been shot, the wounds he sustained were stab wounds, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The body of an adult male was discovered Tuesday approximately one mile north of Sacramento State at Paradise Beach, according to a press release from the Sacramento Police Department.
The body was discovered around 5 p.m. near the American River after police received an anonymous tip. Sacramento County Park Rangers and the Sacramento Fire Department aided in the search.
The body was found with multiple gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made in the case and the police are still looking for a motive.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 916-443-4357. A reward of up to $1,000 is available.
