Investigation and damage assessment is underway concerning the fire that occured in Mendocino Hall Thursday.

Anderson Group International, an insurance and restoration company, is currently assessing the damage done by the fire and determining the safety of students and staff, said Robert Meyers, an employee of the company.

“There’s a lot of cleanup of synthetics,” Meyers said. “Stuff like plastic, chair stuffing, and insulation. It’s a slow process.”

The company is also looking into light fixtures and electrical damage, as well as general smoke and soot damage, Meyers said.

Damage estimates are unknown at this time.
