A female student was reportedly assaulted by an acquaintance Friday night in an alcohol-related incident at the American River Courtyard residence halls, according to a Sacramento State Police alert bulletin.

The suspect is also a Sac State student, but police had not spoken to him as of early Saturday morning.

“His whereabouts are currently unknown,” the bulletin states.

Friday’s incident marks a record seventh reported sex crime on campus this semester. There have been numerous “gropings,” which police have deemed sexual batteries, in addition to several sexual assaults.

Police say none of the incidents appear to be related.

A Sac State police spokesperson was not immediately available to provide additional details or comment on Friday’s assault.
