The Sacramento State women’s basketball bounced back after its winning streak was snapped on Thursday with a 100-83 victory over the University of Montana today at the Hornets Nest.

The team made a program-record 15 3-point field goals in the victory, including seven by senior forward Erika Edwards, who scored 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. It was her third double-double in as many games.

Senior forward Charday Hunt scored 28 points while senior guard Ashley Garcia scored 14 points and dished out eight assists. Freshman forward Kylie Kuhns came off the bench to score 14 points and pull down nine rebounds.

The 100 points scored by the Hornets was a regular-season high. The team scored 126 points against Dominican University in an exhibition game.

It was the Hornets’ eighth win in the team’s last nine games.

Sac State moves within one-half of third place in the Big Sky Conference with the win. The team now boasts a 7-5 conference record and 12-13 overall.

The Grizzlies are 8-5 in conference. Portland State University is in second place at 8-4 while Eastern Washington University is 9-3 in the Big Sky and has already clinched a spot in the Big Sky Tournament. The Hornets defeated both Portland State and Eastern Washington on their last road trip.

Sac State begins a four-game season-ending road trip on Thursday with a trip to Northern Arizona University. The game begins at 5:35 p.m.
