The Sacramento State men’s basketball dropped its third-consecutive Big Sky Conference game and first of a season-long four-game road trip on Friday night, 79-65, to Northern Colorado University at Butler-Hancock Pavilion in Greeley, Colo.

The Bears, the No. 12 team in the Mid-Major top 25 poll, got 16 points from guard Devon Beitzel and 13 points from guard Will Figures to deal the Hornets their 25th-straight conference road loss.

Senior center Justin Eller scored 14 points on 5-7 shooting and also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Senior guard Domineek Daniels notched 14 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks, but it was not enough to overcome a 45-point second half by the Big Sky-leading Bears.

Northern Colorado moves to 6-2 in conference play and 17-4 overall.

The Hornets fall to 1-6 within the Big Sky and 7-13 overall. They take the court Sunday at Northern Arizona University at 12:05 p.m.
