Women’s basketball defeated by Weber State 84-58

The Sacramento State Hornets lost another road game Saturday afternoon, falling to the Weber State Wildcats 84-58.

The Hornets, who are now 6-21, 4-11 in the Big Sky Conference, were mathematically eliminated from the Big Sky Tournament.

For two consecutive meetings between the two clubs, the Wildcats started with large leads in the opening minutes.

Hornet sophomore guard/forward Charday Hunt was the only Hornet to score in double figures with 11 points.

Freshman guard Jasmine Cannady was 1 point shy of tying her career-high with 9 points and Sac State’s leading scorer, junior center Atty Boyer, was held to 8 points.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by forward Caitlin Anderson with 26 points and nine rebounds. The Wildcats also had three other players score in double figures: Ali Thorderson (16), Tashina Taylor (15) and Ahkiah Hunter (12).

The Hornets will finish their season on the road at 6:05 p.m. on March 8 against Northern Colorado.
