Sperbeck receives contract extension through 2012
January 26, 2008
Sacramento State head football coach Marshall Sperbeck has received a 1-year contract extension, Sac State Athletic Director Terry Wanless announced on Tuesday. Sperbeck’s contract now runs through the 2012 football season.
Sperbeck led the Hornets to a 3-8 record in 2007 in his first season as head coach. All three victories came against conference opponents.
Wanless hired Sperbeck to take over the football program on Jan. 13, 2007 following the departure of Steve Mooshagian, whose contract was not renewed after the 2006 season. Sperbeck’s original contract was a five-year deal at $120,000 per year.
Financial details of the extension were not disclosed.
