Help Sacramento State create its own reality series

Liz Gransee

The doors are locked and no one gets in without a key. There are rumors and whispers about what goes on inside behind its borders, but very few truly know. It’s a secret society filled with drama, angst, chaos and laughter.

Though this description may sound like MTV’s latest hit reality series, it closer to home than you think. It’s the dorms at Sacramento State.

Okay, so maybe I exaggerated just a little. There might be more studying and sleeping than there is backstabbing and boyfriend stealing, but how can we know for sure?

For those of us that never got to experience life in the dorms it truly is a secret society filled with mysterious wonders. Perhaps even for those currently living in the dorms everything that goes on still remains hidden.

This is why I am calling upon you dorm residents. The rest of us, including your neighbors want to know what’s going on in your life. Is living in a dorm truly different than living anywhere else? Is dorm life truly like an MTV reality series or am I just letting my imagination run wild?

The State Hornet wants to publish a weekly diary of dorm students to let everyone else have a glimpse of the secret society you call home. We want to share the obstacles, celebrations, friends and the experiences you will cherish for a lifetime. We want our own reality series!

Dorm students, this is where you come in. Send us your stories of life in the dorms. Write your stories like you would write a diary entry about 300 ?” 500 words in length and keep them anonymous if you wish.

The dorm diaries will be published every Tuesday at www.statehornet.com. Send your stories at anytime during the semester to Liz at [email protected].

We look forward to the drama just waiting to unfold.
