Preceding the unveiling of Associated Student Inc.’s new logo on Thursday, ASI President Angel Barajas delivered the first State of the Students Address, which he hopes will become an annual event.

The address was aimed to give ASI more exposure and inform students of current and future issues in ASI. Current issues included Parking Structure III and the acquirement of $25 million to go towards a new recreation center.

Barajas emphasized student government’s goal to direct more money toward outreach programs at a time when they are being cut by the state.

The catered event was attended by faculty, students and alumni.
