Arrrgh! Pirates are invading campus this week for twotimber-shivering events.

First, learn to walk the plank like Johnny Depp and be aswashbuckler like Orlando Bloom Thursday with a free screening ofthis summer’s hit, “Pirates of the Caribbean” at7:30 p.m.

And take notes, because you’ll get to re-live theadventure of the movie by boarding the Associated Students, Inc.and Peak Adventures-sponsored ghost ship which also weighs anchoron Thursday between Yosemite Hall and the intramural soccerfield.

The ten members of the Peak Adventures staff will dress inpirate garb and be in full spirits as the crew on this spookyship.

“Our manager had an inspired vision after seeing themovie,” Peak Adventures Marketing Coordinator Nathan Schrammsaid.

The plan to transform the ropes course into a pirate ship themehas been in the works for four months, ever since Merritt watchedthe movie in July.

Attractions of this ghost ship spook-tacular include theopportunity to walk a 12-foot plank and experience a 37-foot diveas you are harnessed securely to a bungee chord. You can also scalescattered sizes of barnacles on the 40-foot rock climbing wall. When you reach the top, a stash of Pirate’s Booty (no goldcoins, just candy) is awarded to victorious sailors.

All these attractions have been tested by the Peak Adventurescrew for safety and are the normal events a part of the ropescourse.
