Book signing and lecture today in Union
March 14, 2002
Today, Beverly Donofrio, author of “Riding in Cars with Boys: Confessions of a Bad Girl Who Makes Good”, will conduct a lecture session on her book turned movie in the Ballroom of the University Union at 11:45 a.m.
“Riding in Cars” is a story that tells the life of Donofrio?s teen pregnancy, her ugly marriage, her budding career as a successful writer and years of her trying to keep things in order.
She grew up in a working-class environment in Wallingford, Conn., not knowing that one day her life story would be portrayed in a major motion film from Columbia Pictures starring Drew Barrymore. It was in 1990 when Donofrio?s memoir “Riding in Cars with Boys: Confessions of a Bad Girl Who Makes Good” hit bookshelves all across the world.
After the lecture, Donofrio will hang around for a book signing session open to everyone. Admission is free to attend. For more information contact the University Union at (916) 278-6997.
