Auditions for the chorus and principal roles of “Lost in the Stars,” a California Musical Theatre production, will be held at Sacramento State for the third yearin a row.

“Lost in the Stars” is produced in conjunction with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Project, a yearly presentation offered by California Musical Theatre with the help of Sac State?s Department of Theatre and Dance and Celebration Arts.

The main purpose of the Martin Luther King, Jr. project is to “enhance theatre in the community”, said Jamie Johnston, outreach and education assistant of theCalifornia Musical Theatre.

Johnston said they put this production on during the same time everyyear in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

“It?s to reach out to audiences who don?t get to see theatre,” she said.

Having auditions held at such a diverse campus as Sac State, “Lost in the Stars” will feature a multi-cultural cast of over twenty singers, dancers, actors and musicians.

Auditions will take place on Friday, Sept. 28th at 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 29th at 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Shasta Hall.
