#SacStateSays: How do you feel about Sac State’s decision to end winter commencement ceremonies?
November 8, 2017
The announcement that Sacramento State had decided to end its winter commencement ceremonies fifty years after holding its first — did not go over well with students on social media. We asked students, two graduating one month from now, how they felt about the decision. Tell us how you feel by using the hashtag #SacStateSays on any social media platform.

I am extremely disappointed in the decision. The gap that I have to wait after already graduating makes it less likely for me to attend the ceremony. I’ve waited two years to celebrate my accomplishments. I ask that the school reconsider their decision. I don’t see how the same joy and happiness of finishing your degree can be resurfaced after six months when you’ve already told you family and friends that you have graduated.
