State Hornet Comment Policy

Our comments are open to those who wish to engage in civil and intelligent conversation about the articles posted on our website.

We encourage all comments including criticism, debate, advice and praise of the work posted to statehornet.com.

While we welcome criticism and questioning of our work and generally approve comments, we will not approve comments which involve personal attacks, vulgarities, obscenities (including racist, homophobic or other discriminatory language), profanity, incoherence or SHOUTING.

Our comment section is monitored by our student-run editorial staff and thus decisions about what could be deemed unacceptable are subjective, but as stated above, we strive to give readers a place to converse and comment on our work regardless of their opinion.

We never edit comments on our website. They are either approved or not approved.

If a portion of a comment is claimed as a fact or statistic we will do our best to fact check the statement. If we are unable to corroborate the claim or find it to be untrue, the comment will not be approved.

We do not allow for comments to include links to personal blogs or advertising pages. A person may link to an article in support of any opinion or fact made in a comment.

If you find your comment was not approved and you are not sure why, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner.
