The Nintendo press wagon rolled into Sacramento State on Wednesday and it looks like Santa Claus may be obsolete. Our friends from Nintendo delivered three of the hottest Nintendo 64 games this Christmas season, Mario Tennis, Star Wars: Episode I Battle for Naboo and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.

Majora’s Mask, The long awaited sequel to the Zelda classic, Ocarina of Time, brings a same style of game-play but with a new twist. This time our hero, Link, must save the distant land of Termina, before the moon comes crashing down on it in 72 hours. This Zelda game will feature a new arch-villain, a little hellion known as the “Skull Kid.”

The controls in Majora’s Mask are flawless, and this game proves that the Nintendo 64 system is still able to produce some of the best 3-D environments yet seen. Already in release, this is a must buy for N64 owners.

Mario Tennis takes the realism of traditional tennis, and completely butchers it, and to good effect. Nintendo opts to oust Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi for the lovable little characters of the Mario franchise. This game features stunning, colorful visuals that work to create a cartoon-like environment. The multi-player features make this one of the ultimate party games.

The controls of Mario Tennis are simple and precise, making the game instantly playable while at the same time offering an interesting array of moves. Mario Tennis is already on store shelves, in time to bail out boring Christmas gatherings nationwide.

Scheduled to be released on December 18th is Star Wars: Episode I Battle for Naboo. Set against the backdrop of the latest Star Wars film, The Phantom Mencace, this sci-fi shooter will be similar to the previous N64 title Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

Based on the beta-version, Battle for Naboo looks like a winner. Fans of the first game will enjoy the new improved graphics and more complex game-play, though the game is not leaps-and-bounds over Rogue Squadron.
