Back by popular demand, Sacramento State’s UNIQUE Programs in collaboration with the WELL will be providing another relaxing night of yoga at Sacramento State on Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom.

The first half of the lesson will be beginner-friendly and will consist of an introduction to yoga for individuals who have no prior experience. The actual lesson itself will consist of yoga poses appropriate for individuals of all fitness levels and with little to no experience with yoga.

All students are welcome to take a break from their studies to enjoy this free lesson in yoga to help relive some of their stress before finals. Community members interested in trying out yoga are also welcome to join in on this public event.

The end of the school semester can be quite overbearing for many students who are struggling to finish the semester strong. Yoga is a great way for those individuals to clear their mind and take a breather so they are re-energized for their exams.

“A number of studies demonstrate the potential beneficial effects of yoga interventions on depression, stress, and anxiety… Consistent yoga practices improves depression and can lead to significant increases in serotonin levels,” according to the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health.

Free parking for participants will be offered after 6:30 p.m. on the sixth floor of Parking Structure three. For more information about the event, check out the Union’s website: http://theuniversityunion.com/unique/event/yoga-night2
