U.S. President George Bush

-Took a tour of Latin America to promote free trade and democracy. His most memorable stop was in Venezuela where thousands of protestors gathered down the street from his speech. While in Panama, Bush accused many Latin American countries of “rolling back the democratic process of the last 20 years”. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also spoke negatively about Bush during his tour.

-Insisted that U.S. soilders do not torture anyone. Allegations of detainee abuse has surprised the country and the world in the past year. Just recently the CIA was accused of running “secret jails” around the world.

-Was named one of the 100 most influential Hispanic leaders in America by Hispanic Business Magazine. Readers, website visitors, contributing editors, writers and magazine staff picked the members of the list. The magazine has a circulation of 245,000 and over one million readers.
