Hornets run home

Sacramento State cross country opened its new home course at Granite Regional Park in grand fashion.

The men toppled American River College to win their part of the Sac State Open and the women beat out UNLV and ARC to finish second behind Nevada.

Sophomore Dominic Vogl continued his stellar season at the Open by crossing the finishing line first, leaving his opponents in the dust to win the race.

The women ran close with Nevada the entire race and were lead by super freshman Erin Wachter as she crossed the end of the course in second place.

This strong showing from Sac State comes at a great time as they look to continue their momentum in the biggest race of the season in two weeks at the Big Sky Championship. One thing will be for sure, a well-trained team, fresh off success will be ready for battle in Sac State.
