Sacramento State Vice President of Student Affairs Ed Mills told Associated Students Inc. Wednesday that the university would be disbursing $20 million in Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) funds in the spring 2022 semester.

California Assembly Bill 367, entitled “Menstrual Equity for All,” requires public schools to maintain an adequate supply of menstrual hygiene products, such as pads and tampons, in an accessible location before or beginning fall 2022. Sacramento State plans to distribute menstrual products in a number of restrooms across campus as well as other high-traffic locations for student convenience. Sacramento State is getting $2.2 million dollars from California to go toward the university’s Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) and Crisis Assistance & Resource Education Support (CARES) office respectively, according to Associate Vice President of SHCS Joy Stewart-James and Associated Students Inc. director of natural sciences and mathematics Isha Bindal.

Sac State president announces new date for anti-racism and inclusion convocation

Sacramento State’s anti-racism and inclusion convocation has been rescheduled for Feb. 14, 2022, President Robert Nelsen announced via SacSend Monday. This is the second rescheduling of the event, as the convocation was originally scheduled for September 2021 and previously rescheduled for Feb. 25, 2022.

Sac State provost to depart university, serve as San José State interim president

Sacramento State Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Steve Perez will be departing the university effective Jan. 3 after over 20 years to become interim president at San José State University, according to a SacSend from Sac State President Robert Nelsen.

Sac State police Chief Chet Madison addresses concerns in public dialogue at forum
