To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, our staffers took on a sweet challenge: a concha taste test! From strawberry to chocolate to vanilla, conchas are more than just colorful pastries. They are a symbol of culture, community and comfort across Latin America.

About the Contributors

Nojixa Anacleto, Multimedia Staffer

(she/her) Nojixa Anacleto is a Junior journalism major who transferred from Contra Costa College. This is her first semester at Sac State and the State Hornet as a multimedia staffer. She hopes to work behind the scenes or become a photo journalist and help with social media in news. In her free time she loves the outdoors, taking photos, spending time with her family, friends and pets.

Vanessa Gomez, Multimedia Staffer

(she/her) Vanessa is a fourth-year journalism major in her second semester at The State Hornet. She transferred from San Joaquin Delta College, where she was the news editor for two semesters. She is also an intern with EdSource’s California Student Journalism Corps for the fall semester.

Jaqueline Ruvalcaba, Multimedia Staffer

(she/her) Jaqueline Ruvalcaba is a senior journalism major in her first semester at The State Hornet as a multimedia staffer. With experience in video editing, photography and digital media, she is passionate about storytelling through video, music, video games and film.
