Bus trip to Long Beach aims to stop fee increases at CSU

ASI is sponsoring a bus trip to the chancellor’s office in Long Beach to protest proposals for more fee increases next semester.

ASI is providing free transportation and sleeping accommodations for students interested in attending the protest.

The bus will leave on May 13, and return the following night.

“The more (people) the better,” ASI president Eric Guerra said. He said that student fees could increase by as much as 30 percent next semester.

Last year, ASI members and students rallied against the fee increase, but tuition still went up. This year, Guerra hopes more students can come and participate and demonstrate their concerns.

Guerra encourages all students who can make it to come and stop the vote on fee increases.
