Second City performs tomorrow

UNIQUE Programs will bring touring comedy company The Second City to Sacramento State?s University Union Ballroom Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The 42-year-old Chicago-based company blends sketch comedy, songs and improvisation in its shows and has been home to such well-known comics as Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Shelly Long and Mike Myers. The company, established in 1959, operates three national touring troupes and has theaters in Chicago, Toronto and Detroit.

“We had them here about a year and a half ago,” said Dean Sorensen of UNIQUE. “They were very funny; everyone had a great time. We?re really excited to have them back.”
