An unknown force has slammed through the international electronica scene and is going by the name of 2nd Gen.

The mastermind behind 2nd Gen, Wajid Yaseen, is originally from England where he discovered that in order to be original and on the cutting edge of music, you have to defy knowledge.”It’s really simple, no rules,” Yaseen said. “I’ve had engineers come into my studio, have a look at my desk and I see disbelief on their faces. ‘You can’t do that.'”

2nd Gen’s first full-lengthCD, which hit stores Feb. 20, has broken the barriers of classification. It’s techno, but it’s also hip-hop. It’s post rock, but then again it’s industrial. Yaseen saw no boundaries to what he could and could not do when he set out to create this album.

“I’ll try everything. I’ll attempt everything and when the fruits are good, they’re good.”Yaseen has an impressive background when it comes to music history, having once been the bassist for Fun^Da^Mental. On this album he also features hip-hop artist, Dalek, and former Jungle Brother, Sensational (a.k.a. Torture). He also hopes to be hooking up with Chuck D and John Lydon on future tracks.

This album is a necessity for anyone who swears by electronic music. It plays like a drum ‘n bass with hip hop vocals and harsh rock beats thrown in for a punch. Aside from buying this album, be sure to check out 2nd Gen on the web at: www.2ndgen.net.
