A 31-year-old man has been identified by the Sacramento State Police Department as the suspect in two sexual assaults against students.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Nida Muhammad Niazy, who is not a Sac State student, campus police said in a news release.
Police said they attempted to arrest Niazy at his home on Thursday, but he was not there. They said officers made additional efforts to locate Niazy, but he remains at large.
The two sexual assaults alleged to be connected to Niazy were reported to police on Sept. 23 and Oct. 5.
All victims were identified as students, according to Sacramento State Police Chief Chet Madison Jr. during a press conference.
Niazy identified himself as a Sac State student to the victims, police said, although he is not enrolled at the university and instead has an affiliation to San Jose State. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Sac State Police at (916) 278-6000 or by email at [email protected].
