Men’s basketball undergoes changes in roster
May 6, 2016
Mason Stuteville announced last week he has decided to transfer from Sacramento State, leaving the men’s basketball team to look for a different opportunity.
Stuteville played for Sac State for two seasons at the power forward position. In 2014-15, he played in seven games, totaling 19 minutes and scored seven points to go along with eight rebounds and one block. In 2015-16, he played in 17 games, totaling 90 minutes and scored 38 points to go along with 25 rebounds and three blocks. The bulk of last season’s statistics (21 minutes, 13 points, five rebounds and two blocks) came in a home win against Holy Names University.
Stuteville has been touring different schools and has yet to decide where he wants to transfer to.
Aaron Harmetz, a redshirt freshman who was a walk-on, is also no longer on the team. Because of the redshirt, he did not play or accumulate any statistics this past season.
Stuteville and Harmetz were teammates prior to Sac State, when they played on a local AAU team in 2012 and 2013 alongside Stuteville’s brother, Eric. Eric Stuteville, who will be a senior next season playing center, remains on the Hornets.
