Sacramento State honors the three servicemen who received the legion d’honneur for stopping a terrorist attack in France with a digital billboard that can be seen from Highway 50, calling the men heroes.
The three Americans were awarded the medals by French President Francois Hollande in a ceremony Monday in Paris.
Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone, and Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sac State, are all Sacramento natives.
We are proud that Anthony Sadler who with 2 friends stopped a terrorist attack on a French train is a Hornet. Bravo #sacstate #HornetNation

The three heroes were on a high-speed train from Paris to Amsterdam when they heard the gunman and overpowered him.
Sacramento will hold a parade honoring the three men when they return.
I can not be prouder that Anthony and Spencer come from the Sacramento region.

Nelsen in a video statement Monday praised the three for the impact of their efforts in preventing the attack.
