The induction of the Sacramento State Aquatic Center and Boating Safety Center into the California Park and Recreation Society’s Hall of Honor on Friday marked the first facility to be inducted.

“The hall of honor is recognizing facilities and people who have given to the profession,” said President of California Park and Recreation Society’s Lisa Rudloff. “Going back and remembering and honoring them.”

The induction into the Hall of Honor recognizes the awards the park has achieved, how it has served the community.

Established in 1981, the Sac State Aquatic Center and Boating Safety Center has serviced the community with water sport activities and recreation. The center offers University Kinesiology classes, leisure classes for the general public.

Every year the California Park and Recreation Society committee board votes and inducts one person and facility in the Hall of Honor.

For the third consecutive year the Alumni Center hosted to the California Park and Recreation Society’s awards and Hall of honor banquet.
