The Copy Graphics Center added a UPS shipping site to the services it offers on campus this semester.

“We noticed it was a need on campus and since the Box Store is out of business, we decided to bring it to Copy Graphics,” Celexsy Adame, University Enterprises director of marketing services said. “We’re doing it as a convenience to students.”

Customers will do the packaging themselves, and they can purchase packing supplies, such as boxes and bubble wraps at the Copy Graphics Center. Bubble wraps cost 40 cents each and prices of boxes range from $1 to a little more than $2, depending on size.

“This is the only shipping place on campus,” Adame said.

Students, faculty and staff can pay for shipping fees through their OneCard, by cash and by credit card.

“UPS is very convenient for our students, faculty and staff,” Darla Janeway, Copy Graphics manager said. “We hope they will come in to ship a package and remember us for their print needs too.”

Shipping prices vary, depending on size, weight and destination.

“They may be a little more than you pay if you drive down the street, but it’s not that much. We get the best rate we can,” Adame said. “Some people say it doesn’t matter because it’s convenient and they don’t have to lose their parking spots when they go off campus.”

Marilyn Stansfield, Senior and speech pathology major said she hasn’t heard of a UPS shipping site on campus.

“But if the price isn’t that different, especially if it’s better, I would use this one because it’s convenient,” she said.

All UPS stores and shipping sites are owned by individual franchisers, so prices vary. The UPS shipping site on campus is owned by University Enterprises.

Unlike off-campus UPS stores, the one on campus provides shipping services only, and is not allowed to use the UPS logo, Adame said.

Copy Graphics Center is open from Monday to Thursday, from 7:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday, from7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
