The California Faculty Association took another step closer to a strike Tuesday, by holding a town hall meeting with students to give undergraduates and graduates the information as to how a possible strike would affect them.

Criminal justice professor and the Sacramento State chapter president of the CFA Cecil Canton said the California State University system has made things unbearable for both the students and the faculty.

“Fees are going up, class offering is going down, and that is affecting the quality of your education,” Canton said.

Canton added as fees continue to go up, he is worried that students will have to work at jobs longer, which would cause students to be less prepared for class.

“Our degree is going to be worth crap because we are graduating with higher debt, and a lower quality education because class size continues to increase,” said Liz Morales, a junior ethnic studies and Spanish double major and an intern for the CFA.

Canton said if students have classes two days a week, then they will miss one day of class. But if students have classes more than two days a week, then they will miss two days of class.
