Blondes, brunettes, red heads and a variety of the in-between can be seen all over.
Some hair colors look very well on others, but may not work the same for you. If you are thinking about changing your hair color or style, make sure you pick the look that will suite you best.
With spring around the corner, some people are searching for a new look. This includes a new hairstyle. Coming up with new style ideas can be hard, so here are a few tips that might help you find the right look for you.
Lily Chung, a stylist at Regis Hair Salon in Arden Fair Mall said blonde, red and brown are the most popular colors right now. Chung also said highlights are very popular. “People like both chunky and natural highlights,” Chung said.
Picking the right hair color also has a lot to do with your skin tone.
Arianna Cruz, a stylist at Mellow Me Out in the University Union said she usually looks at skin tone and eyes when helping customers decide on hair colors. “If the person mostly has warm colors, then I would go with that,” Cruz said. “It also depends if they want to appear darker or lighter.” But ultimately, Cruz said it is the decision of the customer to pick what color he or she may want.
“People are doing a lot of reds right now,” Cruz said. Even if the customer is getting highlights, most of the colors have red tones.
Full highlights at Mellow Me Out start at $80 and may increase depending on hair length and other factors. Just remember, after your hair is colored, it will require touch ups about every two months.
Other ways to change a hairstyle, aside from coloring, is to try new cuts. “Lots of people ask for layered cuts, but it has been around for a while,” Cruz said.
Also popular at Mellow Me Out are bangs. Cruz said, “Bangs are in right now.” Many celebrities are even sporting bangs, such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Amanda Peet and Penelope Cruz. According to beautytipsonline.com, “The current trend is soft, side-swept bangs, exposing part of your forehead.”
So, if you are looking to change your look this spring, try adding some highlights or bangs. Remember, it never hurts to look around at others for ideas. Just remember, hair is a big part of every look, so try to reflect your own individuality and style.
