Bookstore to begin book buy back

The end of the semester is here, and that means it is time to sell back textbooks which will begin on Monday morning on campus.

Julia Milardovich, the director of book store services, said students can start selling their books back on Monday morning and that there is more than one place to sell their books back.

“Traffic is the lightest early in the week, during finals week, in addition to selling your books back at the bookstore students can sell their books back in University Union from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday,” she said.

Milardovich said students can make it easier on themselves when they go to sell their books back by having all of the different components that go with the books such as the CD, and they need to have either their driver’s license or OneCard.

Nicole Perrtto, a senior speech pathology major, said she usually spends about $600 per semester on books, but most of the time she does not sell her books back.

“I don’t sell my books back, because with my major, I am told to keep my books because I can use them for my graduate program,” she said. “For the rest of my classes, I get maybe 15 percent back for them and that is a good semester.”

Milardovich said that if a book is re-ordered, then students can get a sizable amount back. But if the teachers do not, or once the book store has reached the limit that they need, then students will not get anything back for their books.

“Buy back prices are determined by demand,” Milardovich said. “Books that we are using on our campus will get the best price, and we will pay 50 percent for books that we have received orders for next semester.”
